Match Reports 09/09/18

Redheugh U8s v Blyth Spartans

Today the lads played their first league match after only one training session together. It was a fantastic start to the season with a 4-4 end result and great enthusiasm from players and parents. Well done to the team goalkeeper who was awarded man of the match today.

Redheugh U13s v Bedlington

This team are newly formed this season, having been put together with players from U13 Reds and U13 Blacks as well as some of our younger lads from the U12 Whites and U12 Blacks. Having got off to a tough start earlier in the week, the boys pulled together and claimed a 7-1 win in todays match. Goal scorers were Mike Luaba 4, Aaron Iredale 1, Josh Pickering 1 and Jamie Dorosz . A special mention to Stephen McCartney who stepped up today and played in goal after our keeper injured his foot pre season. Man of the Match was awarded to Mike Luaba.

Liam Routledge

At Redheugh we pride ourselves on having players who have remained with us from their very first game of football through to their teenage years.

Liam Routledge is one of those players. He  joined our club in 2008 as a player on our then U9 team. He played for Redheugh right through to U16s and was a popular member of the club. Unfortunately Liam is unable to continue playing football due to health reasons.

Redheugh would like to wish Liam all the best for the future and to thank his parents, Mark and Sandra, for their support over the last 10 years through sponsorship and being there to cheer Liam on at all of his games.
