About us

Gateshead Redheugh 1957 is an FA Charter Standard Community Club based in Teams, Gateshead. We have 21 teams and serve nearly 300 children and young people every week. The club is affiliated with Durham FA, but we are a charity-run organisation that relies on volunteers to keep the club alive.

Established in 1957, the club was formerly based on Rose Street, Teams, before moving to Eslington Park in December 2011 to a new purpose-built facility that includes 6 Changing Rooms, 2 Referee Changing Rooms, a Café area, a meeting room, and an office. The club is now a sports hub, and we continue working to make it the heart of the community.

The club’s philosophy at Gateshead Redheugh 1957 is for children to develop social and life skills in a football environment. We aim for the children to have the best experience possible whilst at the club, taking part in sport in a fun, enjoyable and safe environment. The emphasis should be on long-term individual development, not short-term success.

We do our utmost to adhere to the club's philosophy, and we all hope that individuals who come to the club enjoy their time with us for more than just football.
